a non-dramatizing blog title
Originally I’ve planed on titling this blog post “a near death experience” but I’ve decided against it. No need to traumatize or disturb the people that care for me. However a near death experience indeed happened to me earlier today when a scaffold of a nearby construction side came down in a storm and fell on the German bakery in which I was reading a book and having coffee. The bakery roof collapsed only 10 meter away from me. People left the bakery in panic searching for cover. Surprisingly nobody was hurt which is solely owned to the fact that the bakery was rather empty at that particular time.
This wouldn’t had happened if the scaffold would have been build out of bamboo like most of them normally are here in Asia. But this one had been made out of steel. Nothing left to say but thanks to my guardian angel.
Let me close this blog post with another story however. Earlier on my way to the bakery a women approached me and offered me a supernumerary for a Bollywood movie. Being a rather non-impulsive person I declined the offer for no real reason. The shooting would have taken place on a 17 day boat trip with a cruise liner in the Arabian Sea in May (even including a small daily allowance). What makes it funny is the fact, that Oliver and I used to joke about me becoming an Indian actor. Since I came here several people took pictures of me/wanted me to be in a picture with them for no obvious reason. What I take out of it though, is the idea that my face looks pleasant enough to be shown in a movie/preserved in a picture. :-)
Btw. thanks for the birthday wishes – Danke für die Geburtstagsgrüße
